Tanjung Bira · South Sulawesi · Indonesia
Vertical walls falling past 60 metres, sharks in the current, and sites no one has surveyed below recreational limits — five minutes from shore. Tek Deep Asia Sulawesi is Bira's technical diving centre: SSI & TDI training, full gas support, honest depth.
Record 01 / Training
Technical diving is a progression, not a purchase. This is the path we teach — what's open now, and what arrives as the centre completes its 2027 build-out. Every course runs on Bira's real walls, not a quarry.
Enriched air, gas planning and the buoyancy, trim and propulsion standards everything above is built on. If your instructor never made you hover motionless for five minutes, start here.
Your first real technical course: twinset or sidemount configuration, valve drills, gas management, team protocols and staged problem-solving in open water. The honest test of whether you'll love this.
Planned, staged decompression diving — accelerated deco, run-time discipline, failure management. The gateway to every deep wall Bira hides below 40.
Deeper, longer, more gas, more discipline. Extended Range earns the parts of the Great Wall that nobody sees.
Helium and closed loops: clear heads at depth and hours of quiet bottom time. The exploration tier — where Sulawesi's unmapped walls actually get mapped.

Record 02 / Guided technical diving
Every operator says "world class sites". Here are ours, plotted. Rec divers dive the lips within their limits; technical teams take the faces. Hover a mark for the brief — the table below is the honest version.
SURVEY SHEET 01 — INDICATIVE POSITIONS, SOUNDINGS IN METRES. NOT FOR NAVIGATION.
| Site | Character | Depth | For |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Great Wall (Goat Island) | Sheer wall, gorgonians, patrolling grey reef sharks | 15 → 60 m+ | Rec on the lip · tech on the face |
| Cape Bira | Current point — sharks, eagle rays, barracuda, tuna | 18 → 40 m+ | Experienced rec · tech drift |
| Shark Point | Whitetips and blacktips on nearly every dive | 12 → 30 m | All levels |
| Below the lip | The unsurveyed 40–80 m band on Bira's outer walls | 40 → 80 m | Qualified tech teams — see Exploration |
Seasonal visitors: whale sharks May–June, mantas around August, mola mola on the deep water. Currents are real here — every technical dive carries redundant gas, SMBs, and a surface plan.
Record 03 / Exploration
Almost nothing below 40 metres in Bira has ever been documented. As the centre's technical capability builds through 2027, we are surveying it — and logging every dive publicly, so the record exists before the legend does.
Baseline documentation of the Great Wall's 40–60 m band: photogrammetry passes, temperature profile, shark aggregation notes.
