In Nature We Are One
GaiaOne crafts regenerative experiences designed to protect and nourish nature — and ourselves. Every dive you take in Raja Ampat plants new coral, funds research, and helps restore one of Earth's most biodiverse ecosystems.
The mission · Why coral reefs matter
Daily reef dives, coral planting and ocean monitoring that make a measurable difference underwater — earning your GaiaOne Ocean Gardener certification along the way. 100% of dive proceeds fund our coral restoration project in Bira, South Sulawesi.

From past travellers
Small groups, real conservation work, and the kind of diving you plan the next year around.
“Cape Kri lived up to every promise — more fish than I've ever seen. Planting coral you'll watch grow for years changed the trip completely.”
“Never freedived before. The breathwork coaching was so patient — by the manta snorkel day I was gliding down to meet them on a single breath.”
“Mantas at Sandy, the tiniest group, and a team that genuinely cares about the ocean. Booking the next Raja Ampat departure already.”

Good to know
Only for the Diving + Conservation expedition, which needs an Open Water certification (a few sites such as Keruo Channel ask for Advanced Open Water). The Freediving Retreat needs no certification at all.
Absolutely. Choose the Freediving Retreat — it welcomes all levels, with daily coaching that builds you up gently. Not sure what fits? Book a quick call and we'll match you to the right track.
You should be comfortable in the water and in reasonable general health. Some Raja Ampat sites have current, so we tailor the daily plan to your level and experience. If you have any concerns, tell us on a call — we'll be honest about fit.
Included: 8 nights' stay across Basecamp and oceanfront Fam Dive Camp, all meals daily, 18 guided dives, all boat & harbour transfers, coral conservation sessions with your Ocean Gardener certification, manta encounters and a GaiaOne memento. Not included: marine park fees, equipment rental, gratuities, flights to Sorong, Sorong accommodation, single-room upgrade and travel/dive insurance.
The $500 deposit secures your place and is non-refundable — but we hold your booking for two years, so you can put it toward any other retreat, trip or dive package we organise. The balance is due closer to departure. Prefer to arrange it personally? Book a call and we'll walk you through it.
Fly into Sorong (SOQ) in Southwest Papua — around 4 hours direct from Jakarta or 2h15 from Makassar. From there it's a 2–3 hour ferry to Waisai (departures 9 AM & 2 PM daily), where we meet you at 11:30 AM and handle the transfer to Basecamp, then out to Fam Island from Day 2.
Each departure runs two intimate groups side by side — six scuba divers and six freedivers, for twelve guests in total. With only six places per track, spots for the 16 – 24 January 2027 departure go quickly.
